It is a plan for your marriage. A well-drafted prenup gives both parties clarity on how finances will be handled throughout the marriage and provides a clear framework in the event the marriage ends, whether by divorce or by death.<\/p>\n Florida law requires that prenuptial agreements be entered into voluntarily, with financial disclosure, and without coercion. An enforceable prenup can protect pre-marital assets, define how marital property is characterized, address alimony terms, and include other provisions unique to your situation.<\/p>\n The most important thing to know about prenups: timing matters. A prenup signed days before the wedding raises enforceability concerns.
